Welcome!

Welcome to NZ Vegan, inspired by the Abolitionist Movement for Animal Rights, based on the theory of The Abolitionist Approach To Animal Rights by Professor Gary L. Francione. The Abolitionist Movement for Animal Rights is a world-wide movement of creative, nonviolent abolitionist vegan advocates.

NZ Vegan aims to create a grassroots vegan movement in New Zealand that is devoted to unequivocal, nonviolent vegan advocacy.  To gain a better understanding of what unequivocal nonviolent vegan advocacy is, please read the six principles of the abolitionist approach to animal rights.

MY VEGAN STORY – by Elizabeth Collins. This was written in April 2011 for a book of vegan stories but it didn’t end up making it into the book.   I am sharing it with you here in order for you to gain some insight on how I became first a vegan, and then an abolitionist vegan advocate, in the hopes it will inspire you to do the same.

Here are some examples of what you can do in New Zealand:

Community activism: Street and Market Stalls

We welcome volunteers who have ideas about creative nonviolent abolitionist vegan education (using the theory of The Abolitionist Approach to Animal Rights by Gary Francione) or who want to get involved in any of our activities or who want to learn more about The Abolitionist Approach to Animal Rights by Gary Francione.
